Refer a club: earn a $29 credit, they get a free first show

If you sit on a club committee, you probably know other clubs that still run their shows from a spreadsheet and a clipboard. Now there's a simple way to point them our way, and both clubs benefit.

Refer a club to Car Show Expert and you earn a $29 credit, the price of one Expert show upgrade. The club you refer gets its first Expert show free.

What each club gets

The club that refers: a $29 credit once the club you referred publishes its first show or pays for its first Expert upgrade. $29 is the price of one Expert show upgrade, so one referral covers one Expert show.

The club that is referred: its first Expert show is free. That is guaranteed to referred clubs, even if our general free-Expert-show promotion ever ends.

How the referral link works

Sign in to your organiser dashboard and open Settings. Find the Refer a club card.
Click Get my referral link. This creates your club's own link: the Car Show Expert main site address followed by ?ref= and a code based on your club's subdomain. For a made-up example, if your subdomain were riverside-cruisers, the link would end ?ref=riverside-cruisers.
Click Copy and share the link with the club you want to refer.
The other club opens the link and signs up as normal. They don't need to type the code anywhere. It is remembered for 30 days, even if they sign up with Google.
The Refer a club card lists the clubs you've referred and shows whether each has published a show.
When they publish their first show or pay for their first Expert upgrade, your $29 credit is earned.

Credits are applied by hand for now. You don't need to email us for a code. Once the club you referred has published its first show, email hello@carshowexpert.com with your club name and we'll apply the credit.

Mentioning it in your newsletter or email

Keep it short and personal. Say who you're recommending it to and why it worked for you. Here is a blurb you can copy and adapt. Paste in the link you copied from Settings and add a line about your own experience:

"If your club runs a car show, we use Car Show Expert for registration, check-in and awards and can recommend it. Sign up through this link and your club's first Expert show is free: [your referral link from Settings]. Questions? Ask any of us on the committee."

Only say what's true for your club. Don't promise the other club anything beyond the free first Expert show.
