Indoor shows, winter and spring
Two long-running custom and hot rod shows, one in Southern California and one in the Sacramento area.
Grand National Roadster Show
Rod Shows (opens in a new tab)An indoor custom and classic show that the organiser calls one of the two oldest and longest-running indoor car shows in the world. It is home to the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award, and the 2026 show also had an outdoor drive-in.
Suits: Hot rod and custom fans, and builders looking for ideas.
Tip: Tickets and registration go through the organiser, Rod Shows.
Sacramento Autorama
Sacramento Autorama (opens in a new tab)An indoor hot rod and custom show with over 500 show vehicles competing, plus an outdoor Autorama Drive-In that parks up to 800 cars. Awards include Custom D'Elegance and Builder of the Year.
Suits: Custom-car fans, and owners who want a drive-in spot without entering the indoor competition.
Tip: Check rodshows.com for the 2027 dates before you book travel; they were not posted when this page was checked.
Goodguys weekends
Goodguys publishes its whole 2027 schedule early, so every date in this section is announced.
Goodguys FiTech All American Get-Together (Pleasanton)
Goodguys (opens in a new tab)A Goodguys show with a swap meet, a Cars 4 Sale Corral, AutoCross racing and a nitro drag exhibition. Goodguys estimates over 3,000 show cars for the weekend.
Suits: Fans of classic and custom American cars.
Tip: Show cars must be American-made or American-powered, so imports can't enter.
Goodguys Meguiar's Del Mar Nationals
Goodguys (opens in a new tab)Goodguys bills it as the kick-off to the Southern California hot-rodding season. Expect rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, imports and trucks, with AutoCross, lowrider and mini-truck displays. Goodguys estimates over 2,500 vehicles.
Suits: Anyone in San Diego or Los Angeles who wants a big rod show without a long drive.
Tip: Sunday is All-American Sunday for late-model American vehicles, so newer cars have a place there.
Goodguys at Pleasanton, later in the year
Goodguys 2027 events (opens in a new tab)Two more Goodguys weekends at the same fairgrounds as the spring show: the 40th West Coast Nationals and the 37th Autumn Get-Together.
Suits: Northern California owners who missed the spring show.
Tip: All Goodguys 2027 dates are on one schedule page, so you can plan several weekends at once.
Monterey in August
Pebble Beach has announced its 2027 date; most of the other Car Week events have not yet.
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
Pebble Beach Concours (opens in a new tab)The show has run since 1950 and awards a Best of Show; the organiser calls it the most prestigious car show in the world. Tickets are sold through the organiser's own store.
Suits: Concours enthusiasts and collectors.
Tip: Buy through the official ticket link on the organiser's site, and check which surrounding events need their own tickets.
Monterey Car Week
Pebble Beach events (opens in a new tab)A week of events around the Concours, including a Tour d'Elegance, RetroAuto, a Classic Car Forum and several auctions listed on the Pebble Beach site, plus historic racing at Laguna Seca.
Suits: People who want historic racing and car culture across several days, not just one show.
Tip: Each event has its own schedule and tickets, so decide which one or two matter most and check each organiser's site.
Dates and details change
Organisers move dates, venues and prices from year to year, and some events are cancelled. “2027 date announced” (green) means the organiser's own site had published the date when this page was last checked. “2027 date listed, confirm with organiser” means the date comes from trade press or third-party listings, not the organiser. “2027 date to be confirmed” means no 2027 date had been published, and the page only describes the usual pattern. Always confirm with the organiser using the link on each listing before you book travel.
