Amelia Concours 2027: March 4 to 7, What to Expect

Early March on Amelia Island, Florida, belongs to the Amelia Concours. It is one of the biggest concours weekends in the country, and it sits at an interesting point in the calendar: after the winter auctions and before the spring cruise season starts.

The organiser's website says: join us next year, March 4 to 7, 2027. That is the announced date at time of writing, and the organiser's site is the place to confirm anything else. One thing to know about the schedule: the Concours has moved its main day around. In 2026 the Concours d'Elegance main display was scheduled on a Saturday rather than the traditional Sunday, according to local press, and in 2025 the show's main day was moved earlier because of the likelihood of bad weather. So check which day the main display falls on in 2027 before you book travel.

What is on offer? According to the organiser's site, the weekend includes the Concours d'Elegance and the Concours de Sport, both judged with Best of Show awards, a Cars & Caffeine gathering, and The Amelia Concours Auction by Broad Arrow. The organiser also names an honoree each year; the 2026 honoree was Dario Franchitti. The 2027 honoree had not been announced at time of writing.

How is it different from other big shows? It is a judged concours, but the Concours de Sport is a second judged show, and the Cars & Caffeine gathering is a more relaxed way in. If you own a car that is not a concours car but you enjoy the hobby, the Cars & Caffeine side is the part you may enjoy most. In 2026 that gathering was listed at The Golf Club of Amelia Island, while the main concours was listed at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Venue details for 2027 should be confirmed on the official site.

Who does it suit? Collectors and restorers who want to see the best of their field. Owners who want to understand how concours judging works. Fans of racing history and sports cars. And anyone who wants a polished, well-organised weekend in a destination where March weather is usually mild. If you want a more casual, shop-and-swap atmosphere in Florida, our Daytona Turkey Run guide at /discover/blog/daytona-turkey-run-2027 is a good complement.

How should you plan? The organiser's site offers a newsletter sign-up for ticket information and a Plan Your Visit link, but no prices or on-sale dates were published at time of writing. The practical advice is to sign up early and watch for announcements. Amelia Island is small, and hotels and rentals fill quickly for a major weekend, so decide on your dates and book lodging as soon as you can, ideally with flexible cancellation. Consider staying on the mainland side if island prices are high.

Tips for first-timers. Pick your days: the weekend has several separate events, and some are ticketed separately. Check the digital program, which the organiser's site mentions, to decide which classes and displays you want to see. If you plan to enter a car, read the vehicle submission requirements first, because concours entries may be selected rather than first come, first served. If you are not sure whether a concours weekend is for you, start with the part that suits you best. A Cars & Caffeine-style gathering is easy to enjoy even if you know little about judging, while the Concours d'Elegance rewards visitors who enjoy reading the placards and learning the history of the cars on the lawn. Listen to the judges' comments if you get the chance, and look closely at the details: panel gaps, paint, interiors and engine bays all tell a story. Pack for changeable weather, wear comfortable shoes and leave plenty of time at each display. A concours is best enjoyed slowly, and the weekend gives you several days to do it.
