Mustang Shows in the USA 2027: Major Events and Tips
The Mustang has been collected, modified and raced for decades, and its fans have built a calendar to match. Some events are official club shows with judging, some are week-long gatherings with drives and track time, and some are huge multi-brand shows with a big Mustang presence. Here is what has been announced for 2027.
Mustang Club of America national shows. The club's events page lists three national shows for 2027. Ponies in the Ozarks, May 28 to 30, at Ozark International Raceway, Gravois Mills, Missouri, is described as a combined national show and driving event. Mustangs at MAPS, July 23 to 25, at the Military Aviation Preservation Museum in Canton, Ohio. And the MCA Grand National, September 3 to 5, at the Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas, listed as Kansas City. The Grand National page names the Mustang Club of Greater Kansas City as the organiser and gives a contact for registration details, instead of a registration page. Contact the organiser before you plan.
Mustang Week. Mustang Week is a separate series of enthusiast gatherings, not an MCA event. The organiser has announced four for 2027: Florida, in the Tampa Bay area, March 10 to 13, with registration opening October 12, 2026. Texas, at Moody Gardens Resort in Galveston, April 13 to 17, with registration opening October 26, 2026. West, at Santa Anita Park in Southern California alongside Fabulous Fords Forever, July 28 to 31, with registration opening December 15, 2026. And Charlotte, at zMAX Dragway and Charlotte Motor Speedway, with dates not yet announced and registration opening February 9, 2027. Early-bird pricing is mentioned for each event, so check the site for the current rates.
Carlisle Ford Nationals, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Carlisle Events lists the 2027 Ford Nationals for June 4 to 6 at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. The organiser describes it as the largest all-Ford show in the world. The event page lists a class for RTR Mustangs, a Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Reunion display tent, a display marking 60 years of the Shelby GT500 with a GT500 parade, and a Sunday autocross. A Saturday night Ford parade in downtown Carlisle is limited to 400 vehicles and requires registration. For the full Carlisle calendar, see /discover/blog/carlisle-car-shows-2027.
Mixed-make shows. If you also want to see Mustangs among other makes, Goodguys has published a 2027 schedule of national events, covered at /discover/blog/goodguys-nationals-2027.
How do Mustang shows differ? The MCA national shows are club events, and Ponies in the Ozarks is described as a judged national show. Classes and judging rules are set by the organiser, so read the rules for the class you are entering. Mustang Week is a series of multi-day gatherings, with some events at dragways and speedways, and the sign-up works differently from a judged show, so read each event's page. The Carlisle Ford Nationals is a big showfield event with flea market, car corral and manufacturer displays. Choose the format you want before you choose the date.
Tips for entrants. Register early, because popular events sell out and early-bird pricing ends. Check the class descriptions, especially for modified cars, since classes can depend on year and model. Keep documentation handy, clean the car well and bring a folding chair. If you plan to drive to the event, check the route and the car's condition first.
Tips for visitors. Look at the schedule for seminars, parades and manufacturer displays, and plan your day around them. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Most owners are glad to talk about their cars. If you also like Corvettes, see /discover/blog/corvette-shows-usa-2027.
To choose between the events, think about whether you want to compete, drive or simply enjoy. If you like the idea of a judged class, the club's national shows are the clearest fit. If you want a social weekend built around other owners, a multi-day gathering is a good match, though you should check what is included and what you need to book separately. If you want a big show with variety, a large multi-day event gives you vendors and displays as well. Look at registration dates now: some of the 2027 Mustang Week registrations open in late 2026, and early registration can make a difference to price and availability.
