What's New: Awards, Vote Desk and Bike Shows
A round-up of what organisers asked for and what is now live: judging totals that agree everywhere, awards you can fill from the scores, a way to take People's Choice votes at the gate, and more control over your sign-up form.
Each item says where to find it. Items marked Expert need an Expert show. Not sure which you have? See the plans section of the manual.
Judging and awards
These are Expert show features. They all live on the Awards tab or the Judge Results tab.
One total, worked out the same way everywhere
The Results page, the Score Results leaderboard on the Judge Results tab, the Awards tab's Winner dropdown and Auto-assign places now all use one total. For each category it averages the judges who scored it (Did Not Present marks are ignored), adds the categories together and shows the result to one decimal. Cars with the same one-decimal total are tied and share a place.
A car missing a score in any of its categories is not ranked. It is listed after the ranked cars, the Results page shows a banner counting those cars, and Auto-assign skips them. The judge's screen already refuses to save a car with a category left blank, so this only happens if categories change during the show. The leaderboard now also lists the cars your show treats as eligible for judging. The full explanation, with a worked example, is in How Car Show Judging Totals Are Calculated.
Winners from the scores, and Auto-assign places
On the Awards tab, the Winner dropdown now lists only the cars in that award's class (every car for an award with no class, like Best in Show). Cars are sorted by total judged points, with the points shown and unscored cars last.
Once judging is closed, Auto-assign places shows a preview, then Assign N places fills the empty 1st to 5th place class awards by rank. It never replaces a winner you have set, and it leaves Honorable Mention and awards with no class to you. Tied cars are not decided for you. Those places stay empty and are listed under Tied — left for you to decide, so you pick from the sorted dropdown.
Head judges now see the Awards tab. They can add awards (only for the classes they judge, if they are limited to certain classes), assign winners, use Auto-assign and publish or unpublish results. Deleting awards, copying awards and Export for MC stay with the organiser.
Copy your awards to another show
On a show's Awards tab, click Copy awards from another show, pick one of your club's shows and click Copy awards. Award names, placements and classes come over as empty slots with no winners. Classes are matched by name. An award whose class the new show doesn't have is copied without a class, and the message tells you how many. Running it twice doesn't add anything twice. When you copy a whole show, tick Copy the awards list (without winners) to bring the awards along. Only the club's organiser can copy awards.
Clear judging data now keeps your awards
On the show's Edit page, Clear judging data still deletes test scores and People's Choice votes. It now only clears the winners from your awards. The award names, placements and classes stay, so you don't rebuild them after a dry run. The public results page shows only awards that have a winner. Awards without one show an Assign winner link on the Awards tab and “Unassigned” in the Export for MC list.
People's Choice
These are Expert show features, on the show's People's Choice tab.
Vote desk for venues with no signal
Click Vote desk to open a screen for the people managing the show. Type a car number and check the car, entrant (first name and last initial) and category it shows. Then click Record vote. Use it for people who can't use their phones. Undo last vote and a Recent desk votes list cover mistakes. Desk votes count in the totals, and the tab shows the split as public / desk. There is no identity check at the desk, so keep it to your own team. It is available while voting is open, and paper ballots with batch tally entry are not available yet.
Rename categories, reset votes, buttons at the top
- The mode and categories still lock at the first vote, but you can now rename a category at any time. Click the pencil icon beside its name. Votes belong to the category, so a rename never moves or loses votes.
- If you set it up wrong and found out after votes came in, the show's organiser sees a Reset votes… button once voting has started. It asks you to confirm how many votes it will delete, removes every People's Choice vote for the show, and leaves judge scores, awards and your settings alone. It is blocked while results are announced, so click Unannounce first. Afterwards the mode and categories unlock so you can start clean.
- Vote desk and Announce moved to the top of the tab, so staff don't scroll past the settings on show day.
Registration form options
Open your show, click Edit and find the Registration form card. Each switch saves the moment you click it, on Basic and Expert shows.
- Capture extended info: switch it off and the public form stops asking for trim, color, registration state and plate number. Your own Add, Walk-In and Add Registrant panels hide them too, and an entry that already has a value still shows it when you edit it.
- Capture motor info (off by default): adds an optional Motor (Stock or Swapped) and a free-text Engine size to the form, for cars and bikes. Garage vehicles can store and pre-fill them, you can edit them on any entry, and the registrations table gets a Motor column. They aren't shown on public pages or included in the CSV export.
- Require vehicle color (off by default): makes Color a required answer on the form and in your own Add, Walk-In and Add Registrant panels. It needs Capture extended info on. Color is free text, so “Primer” is fine. Existing entries and the CSV import aren't affected. On an Expert show, the Remaining to judge list shows each car's color after the make and model.
- Let entrants print their own dash card: switch it off if you give cards out at the gate. Registration emails stop mentioning dash cards, and an entrant who opens a card page sees “Dash cards are handed out at check-in”. You can still print every card yourself.
Venue state (US clubs)
When you create or edit a show, choose the venue's State above the address. Address suggestions are limited to that state, and the state shows with the venue on your public show, vote, volunteer, vendor and results pages, in emails and on dash cards. Leave it on Not set and the address lookup works as before.
Restricted shows limit your own panels too
If your show is restricted to certain makes or models, your Add Registration, Walk-In, Add Registrant and Edit panels now offer only the allowed ones, like the public form. Garage cars that aren't allowed show Not eligible and can't be picked. An entry already outside the list still opens and saves unchanged. The bulk CSV import doesn't enforce the list.
Dash card names
Built-in dash card layouts print the entrant as first name and last initial, for example Alan M. Pro custom templates still print the full name with {{entrant_name}}. See dash card layouts and logos.
Bike and mixed-vehicle shows
The Entry type dropdown on the Registration form card has three choices: Cars & trucks (the default), Bikes and All vehicles. Entrants and judges see the right wording, such as “Bike #12” and “Score this bike”, on the form, public pages, emails and the judging screen. Your own registration, check-in, voting, judging and staff screens use it too. Set it before you open registration, because it locks when the first registration comes in.
- Show Wizard: step 1 now asks What will people enter?, and the review step shows your choice with a Change link. The plain New Show form has no picker, so change it on the Edit page.
- Makes and models: Bikes shows get a motorcycle make and model list. On an All vehicles show, entrants pick Car / truck, Bike or Something else, which takes a free-text make and model.
- Bike classes: on the Classes tab, click Start from the bike class template (Bikes) or Add bike classes (All vehicles) to add 15 classes: Cruiser, Touring, Sport / Superbike, Standard / Naked, Adventure / Dual-sport, Vintage / Antique (1979 and earlier), Custom / Chopper / Bobber, Trike, Sidecar, Scooter / Moped, and Harley-Davidson, Indian, Japanese, British and European brand classes. The rules are informational, so a vintage Harley can go in either class, and clicking twice never duplicates a class.
- Bike judging categories (Expert): on the Judging tab, Use the bike judging categories adds Paint & Chrome, Engine & Drivetrain, Wheels & Tires, Custom Work and Cleanliness & Condition, 100 points in total. It won't run if the show already has judging categories.
- Compact bike dash card: bike entries print on one small portrait card, about 3 x 4 inches, made for handlebars and tank tags. On a Bikes show the Dash Card section on the Edit page offers Preview the bike card in place of the four car layouts. On an All vehicles show, bikes get the bike card automatically and cars keep your chosen layout. A mixed batch prints as two separate runs, with a button to switch. Print bike cards from Chrome, because Safari ignores the page size.
The full walk-through is in New: Bike Shows, Registration Form Options and More.
Staff invites
On a show's Staff tab, Resend invite now always gives a full new 14 days and clears any lockout, so a link that expired is fixed in one click. You can resend each invite up to 5 times a day.
Not included yet
Color is typed in, not chosen from a dropdown. The CSV import has no bike or motor column, so on an All vehicles show imported rows come in as cars and trucks and can be edited afterwards. Motor columns are not in the CSV import or export. There is no engine-size or stock/swap class, no award presets for bike shows, and no spreadsheet import or export of awards.
Summary checklist
- Judging totals now work the same way on the Results page, the Judge Results leaderboard, the Awards tab and Auto-assign places.

- Copy awards from another show on the Awards tab, or tick Copy the awards list (without winners) when you copy a whole show.
- Clear judging data keeps your awards and only removes the winners.
- On an Expert show, the People's Choice Vote desk records votes for people who can't use their phones.
- Set up a People's Choice wrong? Rename categories any time, or Reset votes as the show's organizer.
- The Registration form card on the Edit page now controls extended info, motor info, required color and dash card printing.
- Choose Cars & trucks, Bikes or All vehicles before the first registration comes in.
